Ogres, Trolls, Kobolds, Dark Elves, and other races usually considered "evil" in a standard setting. They find the shadows easy to move through and make up for their lack of culture with powerful physical abilities.

Redeemed, previously known by the racial slur Sub-Mythic, are a racial group consisting mostly of races that fall under the "evil" category in other works of literature.

Physiology

History

During the Legion War, Redeemed races such as Dark Elves and Orcs were put into slavery by the Golden Alliance, set to fight the growing Legion threat. This culminated in the Castaway incident in which the ship's mostly-redeemed crew was betrayed by their captain, then brainwashed into serving him until the end of the war, where his spell was broken and they testified against him to the GA high council. After this, a band of sub-mythics declared their new name as Redeemed and founded the Castaway Treaties Systems, which later went on to include Demi-Humans, Mecha, and many other races.

Subraces

Alraune: Enticing plant-based women with deadly grapples.

Dark Elf: Elves accustomed to living in underground caverns, sly and sociable but considered sneaky and greedy.

Orc: Large, green-skinned, tusked humanoids that are usually eager to hire themselves out to anyone that needs their services.

Ogre: Huge, tremendously strong creatures with surprisingly calm and kind personalities, eager to learn and help.

Kobold: Short, doglike humanoids with strong pack tendencies and the ability to work together in groups to increase their strength.

Troll: Sometimes mistaken for Orcs, but with sharper senses and incredible hunting and tracking abilities.

Goblin: Incredibly curious, short, elf-like humanoids, adept at surprising and sneaking as well as fiddling with devices.

Naga: Usually armless yet deadly predators with the ability to constrict the life out of their prey or weaken them with venom.

Kaiju: Immensely large and varied monster with a talent for building-scale destruction and elemental breath weapons.

Gynarian: All-female tentacled alien invaders with a culture formed around Altearthean television programs.

Dark-Everything +X: Redeemed gain a bonus to cancel out penalties all rolls to see, attack, or defend in any darkness that otherwise makes other characters’ rolls more difficult. This does not apply when the character is blinded, but it gives them a pretty good reason to put the lights out when in a fight.

Hide in Shadows +X: As nature’s lurkers, redeemed gain a bonus to hiding rolls whenever there’s shadows around. That means enough shadows for them to hide in, of course. At least a 2’x2’ square of shadowed area is enough for them to hide, though the amount should change for smaller or larger Redeemed.
